Writing Retreats: An Overview
There are a lot of writing retreats on offer. Finding the right one can be daunting. That’s why we decided to compile our favorites for you.

The write place was created to provide space to write, without distractions. We will care for your basic needs, while you settle yourself in one of our cozy writing nooks to write. Our schedule gives room for eight hours of focussed writing a day between breakfast and dinner. If you need a break, we offer optional activities during the afternoons to gain inspiration and reconnect to yourself and others. There is no specific focus, our guests write anything from literary fiction to memoir, from screenplay to novel. Someone even wrote their master's thesis at our retreats. The only thing we ask of our guests is to take an hour out of their day to read other guest's work and provide feedback during our afternoon peer feedback groups.

Mealtimes are important at our retreats. Our dinners, cooked for us by someone who is as passionate about food as we are about writing, are a time for us to reconnect to ourselves and our bodies. It is a time when we chat, laugh and gain inspiration. Each afternoon, we offer an optional activity like a nature walk, a workshop, or yoga.

We all stay in a cozy house with plenty of communal space to write. During sign-up you get the choice of staying in a private room with ensuite bathroom, a private bedroom with a shared bathroom, or a shared bedroom. See also photo's of the locations on our website and Instagram.

The cost for the November 2025 retreat is €645,- for a shared room and €895,- for a private room.

5 days of uninterrupted writing time, 4 or 5 carefree nights in a cozy house, three vegan or vegetarian meals a day, made for you by someone who is as passionate about cooking as you are about writing, unlimited snacks, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, use of the private sauna (NL) or pool (PT) to unwind. Travel insurance and transportation to the location are not included.

Children’s Book Writing Retreat
For the writer interested in developing their children’s book writing craft, strengthen friendships and community, and immerse themselves in Italian culture.

Five days: 17 April - 22 April 2026

Writing hours are interspersed with workshops presented by world class agents and authors, and one-on-one feedback sessions with US agents. Afternoons and evenings are spent doing pasta making, ceramics, a local vineyard tour and experiencing local delicacies. There are 2-5 dedicated writing hours a day, depending on the day’s program. Participation in workshops and one-on-one sessions is optional.
