Set in Britain in the mid-to-late 2030s, this is a story of a politician, Sean Leigh, and how he navigates an ever-evolving world whilst struggling to hold his marriage and the country together; a futuristic House of Cards meets The 39 Steps.
It’s July 2037, and the New Tory Party runs Britain. When a long-serving Prime Minister decides to quit No. 10, Sean Leigh finds himself being groomed to replace him. Young, handsome and charismatic, and with a wealthy and well-connected wife, he dreams of changing the country. But when a fellow MP is murdered, Sean must fight to unravel a conspiracy which threatens everything he stands for.
Set against the backdrop of technological innovation and societal and political change (and resistance to that change), The Heart of the Party is an entertaining and thought-provoking look at how Britain sees itself, now and in the future. Two sequels, A Minister of the Crown and The State of the Union are already in the works.
