Can-Can and the Adventure of Mìng Island
Author Carmen Monge is passionate about fostering conversations about cancer, believing that such dialogues significantly contribute to the well-being of patients and survivors worldwide.
Carmen is a cancer survivor herself. When she was younger, she faced Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and her personal experiences of receiving treatment in Costa Rica and living abroad for 10 years have fueled her dedication to improving the lives of individuals dealing with cancer worldwide.
Carmen is a global advocate for talking more about journeys of survival. She intends her books about Can-Can to be not only magical stories for children (who may or may not have cancer themselves) to enjoy, but also a learning tool for parents, teachers and other specialists. To help you get started, each chapter ends with a set of questions to think about – on your own, or together with your reading partner. And be sure to chart Can-Can’s journey using your very own Ming Island map at the end of the book.
